The video that captures old maestros of gagaku (youtube) (1)

My friend told me the video that was created by Oklahoma University was very interesting...He said that many legendary "Maestros " of Gagaku in old days could be seen in the video.  Actually, I was startled when I began to watch this!  It has been almost 30 years since I began to learn Gagaku, but I did not know even the "existence" of such video...

It is quite regrettable the sound of sho is not recorded in good condition, but other instruments are recorded quite well and they conveys real sound in Music Department of House Hold Agency in old days.

ものすごく貴重な映像です。 知人から教えていただきました。 ３０年近く雅楽に携わっていますが、こんなビデオがあったことすら知らず。。。 笙の音がややひずんでいて、それが残念ですが、他の楽器に関しては、とても迫力がある感じで録音されており、昔の楽部の雰囲気が伝わってきます。 とにかく、昔の名人の演奏が体験できるのは嬉しいですね。
